It's just me

today i realized even though ive been through some hard times in my life and sometimes everyday is a struggle but i learned you cant just sit back and exspect things to happen you have to take action and no matter how much you complain the problem is always going to be there no matter what so might as well solve it then keep doing what your doing. i have the best family that can keep me going everyday i dont know what i would do without them. <3 ! =))

For more than 60 years, New York photographer Harold Feinstein has been documenting American life from the integration of the U.S. military to love and fun on the boardwalk of Coney Island. His photos have been featured at the Museum of Modern Art, the International Center of Photography, the George Eastman House, the Museum of Photographic Arts, the Musee d’Art Moderne, and the Museum for the City of New York, among other places of note.

Now a group of Feinstein’s supporters are raising funds to publish a hardcover retrospective of his classic black-and-white photographs.

Lucky for all of us, the project shared some of the pictures to appear in the book with LIFE.com.

In the third part of this new series, we present the BentProp Project, a California- based effort that has been searching for the long-lost bodies of tens of thousands of fallen American soldiers, sailors, Marines, and airmen who never came home from World War II, their remains lost in dense jungles, in hidden caves, in downed warplanes under several fathoms of seawater, and in other nearly inaccessible areas seldom seen by humans.

In the remote island of Palau — 1,000 miles south of Guam — the bloody 1944 Battle of Peleliu saw 73 missing in action from the Marines alone.

Now documentarians Jennifer Powers and Dan O’Brien are following up with a companion coffee-table book called Lost in Palau to raise awareness of the BentProp work. They’re attempting to collect $36,000 to fund the book through Kickstarter.com.
